2014 FORMULA ONE SINGAPORE AIRLINES SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
The biggest concerts of the year happen annually at the Padang Stage inside the Grand Prix circuit, so if you are a pop music fan, these are the shows to go for.
Like in past years, tonight’s headliners are top Asian acts and this year, they are Taiwanese rockers Mayday. Tomorrow, Britain’s biggest selling solo act Robbie Williams takes to the stage while Jennifer Lopez will close the Grand Prix on Sunday.
The rest of the eight stages around the tracks hold a wide variety of local and international acts – from Jamaican reggae man Ziggy Marley and multi-Grammywinning R&B/soul singer John Legend to English synth-pop pioneers Pet Shop Boys and home-grown act The Sam Willows.

AMY SEARCH LIVE IN SINGAPORE
More than three decades after he burst onto the rock scene, Malaysian singer Amy is still regarded as rock royalty by Malay music fans here and across the Causeway. While his last performance here was with pioneering Malaysian band Search, the outfit he started out with in 1980, the man is performing solo this time.
Expect to hear him sing tunes from the five solo albums that he has released in the last two decades. As a bonus for the fans, Amy has also announced that his daughter, popular Malaysian actress Nabila Huda, will perform a couple of duets with him – the first time father and daughter are appearing on stage together.

THE KTV TAKEOVER SERIES 2
Here is an unusual venue for an indie and underground gig – a disused KTV lounge at the soon-to-be-demolished Eminent Plaza at the junction of Jalan Besar and Lavender Street.
The gig is part of a music and art project titled An Eminent Takeover that takes place in the two-storey mall. Tonight’s show has sterling acts, including art-rock mainstays The Observatory, post-hardcore outfit Paris In The Making and post-metal quartet Radiant Archery. Also on the line-up are post-hardcore band Calvaire, indie-pop group Obedient Wives Club and hard-rockers The Ship Breakers.
