Let Singapore jazz veteran Jeremy Monteiro get you into the festive mood.

He will play jazzed-up renditions of Chinese New Year tunes as well as evergreens. He will be accompanied by the leading lights of the Singapore jazz scene, including guest singer Melissa Tham and flute player Rit Xu. Monteiro's Gong Xi! CD will also be sold at a discounted price of $16 at the gig.

One of the more productive bands in the Singapore post-hardcore scene, emotive quintet False Plaintiff will mark the release of their new album, their fourth release overall, with this gig. The Baybeats Budding Band alumni will be accompanied by other home-grown acts Fader, Exhibitors and Seasight, as well as Malaysian outfit Transitions.

Originals Sing is a regular platform curated by veteran singer-songwriter Kevin Mathews that features performances by fresh faces from the home-grown singer-songwriter scene.

The first instalment of the year will have budding artists Keith Soo-Tho and Stacy Tan play an hour of original songs each.

Soo-Tho plays a mix of blues, pop and soul and will be backed by his band, Wolf Machine, while newcomer Tan is a linguistics major who also teaches songwriting and guitar at a music school here.
