Taiwanese show-business veteran Harlem Yu, 53, may be better known as an eloquent variety show host these days, but the judge of popular reality TV singing contest Voice Of China is also an award-winning singer-songwriter. SHUT UP & LISTEN (#SUL14)

Mini music festival Shut Up & Listen is back for its sophomore edition, and it is another mixed bag of genres. Australian acts lead the pack this year, with sets by post-hardcore band Hands Like Houses, alternative rockers Avastera and pop-punk quintet Here Come The Cavalry. There is also American singer Kawehi, whose live looping videos of covers by iconic acts such as Nirvana and Michael Jackson have gone viral online, as well as Singapore's very own eclectic rockers, Monster Cat.
