G-Dragon gets special treatment at army hospital

SEOUL • G-Dragon is only a low-ranking soldier, but why is he warded in a first-class room in hospital?

On Monday, a South Korean media outlet raised the issue, reporting that the Big Bang frontman - who is now serving mandatory military service - is getting preferential treatment.

It said that he had been warded in an army hospital in Yangju in Gyeonggi province since June 19, suffering from ankle pain.

His room is said to have an air-conditioner, a television and a fridge while rooms that accommodate four, six or eight patients have no such luxuries.

The report also pointed out the flexible visiting hours for the rapper. Normally, visitors are allowed from 11am to 5pm, but someone who looks like the artist's manager was reportedly spotted in his room even after 5pm.

G-Dragon, who enlisted on Feb 27, is slated to wrap up his military stint on Nov 26 next year.
