SINGAPORE - When Hindi social thriller Pink was released in 2016 in the wake of the #MeToo movement, the film made waves for its visceral and unflinching take on sexual harassment and misogyny in Indian society.

Its Tamil remake Nerkonda Paarvai (A Resolute Look), which opens in Singapore on Aug 8, will "maintain the spirit of the original", says the film's renowned producer Boney Kapoor, who made his first foray into Tamil films after four decades of making Hindi ones.
