Drake and The Chainsmokers clinch 22 nods each for the Billboard Music Awards

LOS ANGELES - Drake continues to make more Headlines.

This time, the Canadian rapper Drake and American electronic dance music (EDM)/ pop duo The Chainsmokers have each bagged a record 22 nominations at this year's Billboard Music Awards.

Drake will vie for Top Artist, Top Male Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist, among other honours.

The list of nominees was announced on Monday in the United States.

Twenty One Pilots are also soaring with 17 nominations while Rihanna has 14, The Weeknd 13 and Beyonce eight.

Other contenders for Top Artist include Adele, Beyonce, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Rihanna and The Weeknd.

Coldplay and Guns N' Roses - both of whom recently performed in Singapore - are among the contenders for Top Duo/Group.

The Billboard Music Awards will be held on May 21 in Las Vegas.
