Bill Hader came to Hollywood to become a director, but ended up working as a production assistant instead. And he fell into acting - and his career-making turn on the sketch show Saturday Night Live - only after taking some comedy classes on a lark.

After that long detour, he finally makes his directorial debut with three episodes of his new television comedy, Barry. Airing on HBO (StarHub TV Channel 601 on Mondays at 10.30am and 11.30pm), it sees him play a hitman who is also drawn to acting.
