Chinese actor Wang Baoqiang is getting a divorce and firing his agent for his affair with his wife

BEIJING - Dropping a bombshell of a statement on Weibo on Sunday (Aug 14), Chinese film star Wang Baoqiang announced that he is divorcing his wife and firing his agent because he cannot tolerate the two's extramarital affair.

Wang, 32, said he had been in a loving, honest and faithful marriage with his wife Ma Rong, 30, since 2009.

"Now, due to Ma Rong's improper extramarital sexual relations with my agent Song Zhe, which has severely hurt the marriage and destroyed the family, I have solemnly decided to dissolve my marriage with Ma Rong and release Song Zhe from his position," his statement read.

Wang, who has a son and a daughter with Ma, concluded by asking the media to "give the family some privacy" and to be mindful of his two young children and their elderly grandparents.

Thirty minutes after Wang released his statement, Song posted on Weibo: "I'm sorry..." and deleted his previous posts, said NetEase website.

Wang is a star of movies including A World Without Thieves (2004), with Andy Lau, and Lost In Thailand (2012), with Fan Bingbing.

Correction note: An earlier version of the story said that Wang has two sons with Ma. This is incorrect. They have a son and a daughter.
