Chance for ST subscribers to win movie tickets

Subscribers of The Straits Times are in for several film treats in the months to come, thanks to a number of movie ticket giveaways.

The tickets are either for shows on opening day or before the films hit cinemas.

The first giveaway, which kicks off today, will be for the highly anticipated Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the sequel to the acclaimed Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014) action spy thriller starring Colin Firth and Taron Egerton.

In the new film, the suave spy pair, who are known as Kingsman, return for a new adventure - this time, they pair with their American spy counterparts, the Statesman. The film opens in cinemas on Sept 21. This special screening will be held on Sept 19.

Later this month, tickets will be given out for The Lego Ninjago Movie, the new animated film featuring Lego bricks.

Young master builder Lloyd must team up with his ninja friends to defeat the evil Garmadon (voiced by Justin Theroux), who also happens to be his father. The screening for this film will be held on Sept 27, a day before it opens in cinemas.

Other movies readers can hope to snag tickets for include Geostorm, a disaster movie about a huge storm threatening to wipe out Earth; Murder On The Orient Express, the Kenneth Branagh-directed film based on the beloved Agatha Christie mystery novel; Justice League, the superhero film that brings together all the DC Comics big guns; Ferdinand, an animated film about a Spanish fighting bull; and The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman as P.T. Barnum, who founded the famous Ringling Bros Circus. A total of 250 pairs of tickets are up for grabs for each movie title.
