Film-making duo Phil Lord and Chris Miller have done pretty well with critics across genres, whether it is directing hit live-action movies (21 Jump Street, 2012), producing an acclaimed television series (The Last Man On Earth, 2015 to 2018) or writing and directing box-office-crushing animation (The Lego Movie, 2014).
Aside from one notable blip - they were sacked as the directors of Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018) following creative differences with the studio - they have been largely bulletproof at both the box office and in review columns.
