SINGAPORE - A new TV series based on Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling's crime novels will debut on TV channel Cinemax next June.

Titled C.B. Strike, the dramatic series is based on her stories featuring war veteran-turned-private investigator Cormoron Strike, as featured in her books The Cuckoo's Calling, The Silkworm, and Career Of Evil. Rowling had written these crime novels under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith.

The TV adaptation will star British actor Tom Burke (The Musketeers, 2014 - 2016) in the lead as Strike, who will use his background as a former military police investigator to solve three bizarre cases that have stumped police.
