Rapper Prodigy dies at 42

Prodigy, one-half of hardcore New York rap duo Mobb Deep, has died at 42. He was hospitalised for sickle cell anaemia-related complications, a representative said on Tuesday.

The rapper (whose real name is Albert Johnson) was warded a few days earlier after a Mobb Deep performance in Las Vegas.

Girls' Generation to release album

In the fickle world of K-pop, one group - Girls' Generation - have shown staying power to reach their 10th anniversary.

To celebrate the feat, their management agency has lined up a meet-up with fans in August plus a commemorative album. This will be the sixth album by the now eight-member group, whose last album, Lion Heart, came out in 2015.

Popular member Jessica left the band shortly after its release.
