Pope to launch album
Pope Francis is to release an album, Wake Up!, on Nov 27, following his United States trip. The album features his speeches set to rock, pop and Gregorian chants and will raise money for a support fund for refugees. The first released track, Wake Up! Go! Go! Forward!, has reverberating electric guitars and pounding drum fills and is a call to action, as Francis says: "No one who sleeps can sing, dance or rejoice." His speech is followed by a sung heavy rock melody.
Gilmour hits No. 1
Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, 69, has scored his second solo chart-topping album with Rattle That Lock, the Official Charts Company said last Friday. He beat Lana Del Rey, whose Honeymoon release which came in at No. 2. Gilmour last topped the chart 10 months ago with Pink Floyd on The Endless River, but it has been nine years since he last made it to No. 1 on his own, with 2006's On An Island.
