McLean on domestic violence arrest

Singer Don McLean, 70, released a statement on his website about his domestic violence arrest on Monday.

He said the past year had been "hard emotional times for my wife, my children and me".

"What is occurring is the very painful breakdown of an almost 30-year relationship."

He was arrested at his Maine home, where he lives with his wife Patrisha, 56, who has since obtained a restraining order against him citing long-term anger issues, it was reported.

"There are no winners or losers, but I am not a villain... I hope people will realise that this will all be resolved, but I hope I will not be judged in this frantic media environment," he said.
