Man charged with theft of McDormand's Oscar
The man accused of stealing Frances McDormand's Best Actress Oscar from the black-tie Governors Ball in Hollywood has been charged with felony theft, the Los Angeles County District Attorney said on Tuesday. Terry Bryant, 37, faces up to three years in county jail if convicted on the single count of grand theft of property exceeding US$950 (S$1,250), prosecutors said. He is accused of swiping McDormand's Oscar statuette from the after-party where Oscar winners have their awards engraved.
Milliner John Boyd dies
John Boyd, the milliner who helped turn Princess Diana into a global fashion icon, died on Feb 20 at 92. He provided her with the pink tricorn hat that she wore on her way to her honeymoon - a chapeau later copied by milliners across the world and credited with rebooting a stagnant industry.
He was the official milliner to British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, and he went on to "do a Princess Di" for Kate Middleton, who became the Duchess of Cambridge when she married Diana's elder son, Prince William.
Planned sale of Weinstein Co falls through again
The planned sale of The Weinstein Co has collapsed yet again, after the investor group that had agreed to purchase the embattled studio discovered its liabilities were higher than previously disclosed, sources said.
