Critics slam singer Morrissey's debut novel

Singer Morrissey's debut novel List Of The Lost was released to derision from critics in Britain on Thursday. The book is about teenage members of a Boston relay team in the 1970s who accidentally kill a tramp. The Guardian called it "verbose, tangential, unfocused" and "bewilderingly all over the shop", adding, "Do not read this book; do not sully yourself with it". Comments on Twitter focused on the book's sex scenes, written by Morrissey, who once claimed to be celibate.
