Hungary holocaust drama shortlisted for Foreign Language Oscar

Hungary's harrowing Holocaust drama Son Of Saul and France's Turkish family drama Mustang are among nine films shortlisted for the Foreign Language Oscar, organisers said on Thursday.

The nine films - seven of them from Europe, one from Colombia and one from Jordan - were selected from 81 submissions.

The shortlist will now be whittled down to five finalists which will be announced together with all other Oscar nominations on Jan 14.

DJ Kygo hits one billion streams on Spotify

Electronic artist Kygo has become the fastest artist to hit one billion streams on Spotify, capping a phenomenal year for him, the music site said on Thursday.

The 24-year-old Norwegian DJ, whose first major solo release was last year's Firestone, reached the one-billion mark in a little more than a year.

Spotify said other recent stars - such as British soul singer Sam Smith - usually needed two years to reach the one-billion mark.
