Hedi Slimane leaves Saint Laurent
Saint Laurent creative director Hedi Slimane, 47, quit the French fashion house yesterday. He had ended a four-year mission to reposition the couture house, the brand's owner Kering said.
In a goodbye note on Twitter, Slimane posted a picture of YSL co-founder Pierre Berge in a mirror. In what now seems a highly symbolic gesture, he had kissed the late Yves Saint Laurent's partner after presenting his final show for the label last month in Paris.
Asia Television pulls the plug
Hong Kong's oldest TV station Asia Television, which launched stars such as Liza Wang and Leslie Cheung, was to go off air last night, just before its free-to-air TV licence expired yesterday, reports said.
The 59-year-old station's licence was not renewed after it failed to pay staff on time since 2014. A rerun of an old travel show was to air as its last show on its Chinese channel.
