Damn Daniel boosts sneakers sales

A viral video in February starring California teen Daniel Lara and his gleaming white slip-on Vans sneakers and featuring the catchphrase "Damn Daniel" has helped boost sales for the brand by mid-single digits in the Americas, parent company VF Corp said last Friday, with a 20-per cent increase in direct-to- consumer sales and a 30-per cent jump in online sales.

The clip featured Josh Holz, 16, calling out "Damn Daniel..." repeatedly to his friend Lara, 14, for wearing Vans.

VF gave Lara a lifetime supply of Vans shoes when the teenagers appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in February.
