Chris Brown released on bail

Singer Chris Brown has been released from jail on US$250,000 (S$340,800) bail following his arrest on Tuesday on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, according to booking records.

Police said a woman called 911 on Tuesday morning from outside Brown's Southern California home. After a stand-off with police, Brown was arrested without incident. He was released shortly after 11pm.

His attorney, Mr Mark Geragos, wrote on Twitter that "the allegations against him are demonstrably false". "We are cooperating," he said.
