Black Dove model says ad not racist

A black model who appeared in a Dove advertisement denounced as racist by many social media users has defended the clip, saying it celebrated ethnic diversity.

Lola Ogunyemi unwittingly found herself at the centre of an international furore over a three-second video posted on Dove's United States Facebook page that showed her removing her T-shirt to reveal a white woman, who then took hers off to reveal an Asian woman.

"I don't feel it was racist," she told the BBC on Wednesday.

She said the stills that shot around the Internet over the weekend, which mostly showed only her and the white woman, leaving out the Asian woman, gave the wrong impression.

Musical Hair gets Trump update

A special production of the 1960s rock musical Hair, tweaked for the age of Trump, premieres in London this week to mark the ground-breaking show's 50th anniversary.

The show, staged in London's Vaults theatre, features updates to the dialogue and song lyrics written by James Rado, who wrote the show with Germoe Ragni in the 1960s, to comment on contemporary politics.

Among the updates, characters sing about making "America stronger" - a reference to United States President Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign slogan.
