Woman who sued singer acquitted

A woman who sued K-pop singer Park Yu Chun for sexual assault was found not guilty on Wednesday of making false accusations.

He was alleged last year to have sexually assaulted four women, but was found innocent of all charges in March. In January, another of the four women had been found guilty of bringing a false lawsuit against Park.


Annette Bening to head Venice jury

American actress Annette Bening will preside over the jury of this year's Venice International Film Festival, organisers said on Wednesday.

Bening, who has four Oscar nominations, will be the first woman to preside at Venice since French actress Catherine Deneuve in 2006.


Despicable Me rules on July 4 weekend

Despicable Me 3 shoved all other rivals aside at the North American box office over the United States holiday weekend (last Friday to Tuesday), taking in nearly US$100 million (S$138 million), industry figures showed on Wednesday.
