(REUTERS) - The Force was calling to the British royals, with Princes William and Harry paying a visit to a movie studio not so far, far away.

The two toured Pinewood Studios, where the latest Star Wars instalment is being filmed.

They were there to highlight the wealth of British talent involved in the production.

They learned the ways of mask design, alongside The Force Awakens star Daisy Ridley, saw first-hand the secrets of Chewbacca's good looks, and the mechanical head of resistance fighter Voder Dand.

Later, the princes dueled it out with lightsabers and picked up of a couple of tips from Ridley.

Actor John Boyega and droid BB8 also welcomed them, with Luke Skywalker himself - actor Mark Hamill - providing a couple of tips from his Jedi training.

Star Wars: Episode 8 is due for release in December 2017.
