LOS ANGELES (AFP, Reuters) - TMZ, which posted images of what it said was Angelina Jolie's filing for divorce from Brad Pitt, reported unconfirmed claims that the actress filed the papers over the actor's consumption of alcohol and marijuana, and anger issues.

She filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday (Sept 19), citing irreconcilable differences, court documents showed. She sought full physical custody of their six children with visitation rights for Pitt but did not seek spousal support. She cited their separation date as Sept 15.

TMZ said Pitt was "furious" at Jolie for allegedly spinning the story about him being a risky parent, and for turning their family into prime paparazzi targets.

TMZ, quoting unnamed sources, said Pitt had pleaded with Jolie to handle the divorce "like adults". He wanted a low-key split for the benefit of the children. After her high-profile filing, he was reported to have said: "She's just unleashed hell."

"If there are allegations of substance use and anger problems, that could lead to Pitt having supervised parenting time," Ms Kelly Frawley, a partner at the New York law firm Kasowitz, Benson, Torres and Friedman said.

"In situations like this where the children presumably have multiple nannies, supervision should not prevent an amicable resolution because such nannies can act as the supervisors, thereby limiting disruption to the children and embarrassment to the supervised party."
