Edie Falco won three Emmys playing a gangster's wife in The Sopranos (1999 to 2007), then took home a fourth as a drug-addled nurse in the medical drama Nurse Jackie (2009 to 2015).
But her new Amazon Prime Video show Tommy gives the respected dramatic actress a bit of a career bump: She plays Abigail "Tommy" Thomas, who has just been appointed the first female police chief of Los Angeles, and must now prove herself on the job.
