SINGAPORE - The Aeronauts (PG, 101 minutes, opens Dec 12, 2.5 stars) crams science, adventure and romance into one ambitious and patience-testing package.
Inspired by real events, the film is an account of an English balloon flight that in 1862 smashed altitude records. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones are paired in what its creators hope will be a rekindling of the spark that made the Jane and Stephen Hawking biopic The Theory Of Everything (2014), in which both also starred, an award winner with great crowd appeal.
