SINGAPORE - Here come the earworms. This year's most anticipated follow-up movie - other than a certain one about a bald purple alien searching for coloured rocks - opens this week in all its sparkly, sugar-coated splendour.

Frozen 2 (PG, 103 minutes, opens Nov 21, 3.5 stars) mixes some gloom into the glitter, though. In parts, the tone, too, is subdued, almost sombre, with the high spirits of the first movie now replaced by confusion and yearning.
