HONG KONG - A weekly magazine is saying Andy Lau's wife Carol Choo secretly gave birth to his son in early August, but the superstar has not responded to the story, reports Ming Pao Daily News.

According to the report that was published on Lau's 55th birthday on Tuesday (Sept 27), Choo appeared swollen and tired when she attended his recent birthday party for his fan club, and she did not hold the couple's daughter.

It said he did not announce his son's birth because paparazzi photos of his firstborn caused him heartache and he did not want the boy to become a public figure too.

However, a March 30 report of Choo's pregnancy seemed to have been denied by Lau a week later, when he said "Not yet!" on his official website.

Recently, asked about his family planning, he said of the previous baby rumours: "Are they still going round? Haha. We're leaving it to fate."

Ming Pao is taking the latest report with a pinch of salt. It said Lau took time off from work when his daughter was born, but was making a movie in Prague last month, around the time of the reported birth. He has not replied to the new report, it added.
