Mum recalls how Shin Lim cast his magical spell - even though magic not his first love

When he was a budding teenage magician, Shin Lim would pester his mother to take him to competitions around the world, so that he could meet other magicians and learn his trade.

Madam Mabel Tan agreed to do so, simply because she wanted to know if the second of her three sons would be talented and resilient enough to succeed. Their efforts seem to have paid off.
