American model Christie Brinkley is 61 years old but looking at her, there is no way you'd call her a senior citizen.

The some-time actress stunned in a series of Instagram photos last week that gave new meaning to the phrase 'ageing gracefully'.

Clad in only a bikini, Brinkley looked like a woman decades younger as she holidayed under beautiful blue skies.

Her fans weren't shy to point it out. "She's 61!!!! Amazing," commented megankimps on one photo, while smfargo1 wrote: "Christy looks like a 20 year old!"

Major US media outlets such as CNN and USA Today posted the photos on their sites. A CNN article called them "inspiring".

Brinkley was recently seen on the small screen in a guest-starring role in the sitcom Parks And Recreation. She is best known for her modelling work, having featured on the cover of three consecutive Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue covers in the late 1970s and early 1980s.
