BEIJING - Actress Cecilia Cheung is seeing a wealthy Chinese movie producer, according to a Chinese paparazzo.
A clip posted on Weibo by Zhuo Wei, self-styled China's No. 1 paparazzo, on Monday showed and described two trips Cheung made by car to a mansion near the Beijing airport. She was accompanied on her Feb 3 trip by producer Sun Donghai, 47.
Zhuo is the founder of paparazzi outfit Fengxing Studio whose photos of Cheung's ex-husband Nicholas Tse and singer Faye Wong last September broke the news of the old flames' reunion.
Cheung on Jan 28 hurriedly left a dinner with director Jingle Ma and co-star Richie Jen and travelled to the mansion, Fengxing Studio said.
Its clip showed Cheung, 34, in a jacket and jeans on Feb 3 alighting from a vehicle at the mansion, followed by Sun, allegedly the owner of the house. They reportedly spent a day together and he was seen with his hand on her waist as they boarded a car and left.
Sun, who made his money in property before turning to show business, is the ex-boyfriend of Chinese actress Li Xiaoran and was also linked to actress Yin Tao, according to reports.
His name cropped up in reports in 2010 after Chinese director Yan Po survived a knife attack by several men.
According to a Global Times report then, two of the suspects claimed to the police that they were avenging a friend named Sun because Yan was dating Sun's ex-girlfriend. Li also suggested to the police that the attack could have something to do with her ex-boyfriend.
Sun reportedly made idol drama My Youthfulness (2009) and the 2011 film Shaolin which starred Tse. He is said to be a good friend of the Hong Kong star's dad Patrick Tse. Visiting Beijing in 2012, the Tses were feted by industry big-wigs, among whom was Sun.
But yesterday Patrick Tse told NetEase that he did not know who Sun was.
