Aaron Kwok confirms he's a father

HONG KONG • Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok confirmed the birth of his child yesterday.

According to Apple Daily, he posted a photo on Weibo of a baby's hand holding on to two fingers and wrote: "Happy, amazing, grateful! Us three! (two smiley faces, baby emoji) Grow, family, protect! (three smiley faces)."

Talk had swirled that Kwok, 51, and his wife, model Moka Fang, 29, had welcomed a daughter early this month. The couple married in April this year.

While the post did not reveal the gender or birth date of his child, Apple Daily pointed to the use of the colour pink in Kwok's post as confirmation of the rumour.

The star has reportedly been silent on the matter because, during a Mother's Day celebration, his mother had urged him to "protect his own family well".

He hence decided not to keep others informed of his family matters, saying: "I know everyone wants to care about me, but I respect my mother's opinions."

He is set to appear in at least two movies next year, fantasy flick The Monkey King 3 and thriller Project Gutenberg, with Chow Yun Fat.
