LOS ANGELES - A history-making sketch-comedy show - the first written, directed by and starring African-American women - had the pick of the litter when it came to top-tier guest stars.

Streaming on HBO Go with new episodes every Saturday, A Black Lady Sketch Show has four core cast members that include creator Robin Thede, but also features cameos by acclaimed actresses Angela Bassett (What's Love Got to Do with It, 1993) and Laverne Cox (Orange is The New Black, 2013 to 2019) as well as singers Patti LaBelle and Kelly Rowland.
