It was an early start to Friday night drinks at Paragon Shopping Centre yesterday.

About 50 people had formed a queue for 500 free bottles of Somersby Apple Cider by 4pm.

Yesterday's cider giveaway was the last in the first series of treats for readers who like @StraitsTimesFood on Facebook.

The five days of food (and drink)treats, which started on Monday, kicked off the launch of ST's new food website straitstimesfood.com, also known as ST Food.

Other things that were distributed to readers this week included Starbucks' Teavana Red Ribbon Green Tea Latte, bowls of bingsu from Korean shaved ice shop Ice Lab, Panasonic's Veggie Life salad packs and salted egg snacks from The Golden Duck.

ST Food will be giving away more treats for the festive season later this month.
