42 hurt at Snoop Dogg gig

NEW YORK • At least 42 people were injured last Friday night after a railing collapsed at a Snoop Dogg concert in New Jersey, police said.

The rap superstar was performing with fellow hip-hop artist Wiz Khalifa in the north- eastern state when the metal railing buckled under the weight of concertgoers leaning against it.

Footage uploaded to social media shows fans tumbling atop one another towards the foot of the stage.

Police spokesman Dan Keashen said most of the injuries were broken bones and bruises.

One person was taken to a trauma centre with a serious upper body injury and released last Saturday morning.

A Camden, NJ city spokesman said the venue has no history of code violations or building maintenance issues.

The concert ended shortly after the incident.
