As we progress through the pandemic, a curious fact is emerging - the coronavirus is eating up fewer women than men. Male Covid-19 fatalities, it is being noted with surprise all over the world, are considerably higher than female fatalities. Harvard University's GenderSci Lab at the T.H. Chan School of Public Health, like many other facilities, is gathering and analysing data, but remains baffled.

Possible theories being put forward suggest connections to hormones, smoking, the immune system, lifestyle issues and better medical awareness among women, but no definite answer is as yet forthcoming.
