In Teo Cheng Wee's column (Who Are You To Call Me 'Uncle'?, Life, Dec 27), he lamented being called an uncle many years back, even though that was the right way for his nephews and niece to address him.
Fortunately, he got used to it over the past few years.
I wonder if this has ever happened to him:
A stranger or a hawker-stall assistant, older than him, calling him "uncle". If not, it will most likely happen one day.
