Psy breaks another YouTube record
South Korean singer Psy has stamped another mark on YouTube, surpassing 10 million subscribers on his official channel on the video-sharing site.
He is the first Asian solo artist to land that honour. Psy's Gangnam Style (2012) music video holds the record of being the most-viewed YouTube clip of all time with 2.8 billion views as of May 22.
Parton lauded for wildfire relief efforts
Country singer Dolly Parton has drawn a chorus of approval, not for her music this time, but for her efforts to help society.
The 71-year-old will get an award from the Academy of Country Music on Aug 23 for her work in supporting wildfire relief efforts. She has helped raise more than US$10 million (S$14 million) for families affected by the blazes.
