The Ventures guitarist dies

Nokie Edwards, whose guitar-playing with The Ventures helped create the genre of instrumental rock, died on Monday, aged 82, after battling an infection related to hip surgery.

Emerging in the Seattle area in the early 1960s, The Ventures sold more than 100 million records and are best known for the theme to the TV show Hawaii Five-O.
