Voting deadline extended

The deadline for voting for the Production Of The Year (Readers' Choice) award has been extended to March 30.

The voting period has been extended because the online contest form had a technical glitch. The original closing date was March 15.

The Straits Times apologises to readers for the error and thanks everyone who has taken part.

The error has been fixed and we would like to invite readers to submit their votes at http://str.sg/lta17vote.

Readers who vote for their favourite production will be entered in a lucky draw.

Ten winners will each receive a pair of passes to the invitation-only awards ceremony held at the Esplanade Recital Studio on April 10.

One of these 10 readers will win the grand prize of a two-day, one-night weekend stay at the M Social Singapore hotel, designed by famous French architect Philippe Starck and located in Robertson Quay by the Singapore River.

The stay will be in the duplex-style Loft Gallery room. It comes with breakfast for two plus dinner for two at the hotel's Beast & Butterflies restaurant.

The five nominees in the running for Production Of The Year are: B*tch: The Origin Of The Female Species (Edith Podesta, presented by M1 Singapore Fringe Festival); Electra (Cake Theatrical Productions); Falling (Pangdemonium); Grandmother Tongue (Wild Rice/Wild Rice's Singapore Theatre Festival); and Manifesto (Drama Box and The Necessary Stage).

The M1-The Straits Times Life Theatre Awards, organised by The Straits Times' Life section, has recognised the best of Singapore theatre since 2001.

The Readers' Choice award was introduced in 2013 to invite reader participation in the annual awards ceremony. The first winner was Wild Rice's La Cage Aux Folles, which the theatre company is restaging this year.

Communications company M1 Limited came on board as title sponsor in 2015. The awards are also organised in collaboration with Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay.
