Contemporary artist Kanchana Gupta works with a lot of paint, but you will not find a single easel in her studio in 16 Shaw Road.

Taped to the walls are sheets of tarpaulin slathered with oil paint. Below, more than a hundred pieces of dried "oil paint skins", which are completed works, rest on the floor.
