Call For Entry To The 27th Singapore International Film Festival

The Singapore International Film Festival is open for these submissions and applications: feature and short films, the Southeast Asian Film Lab, and the Youth Jury and Critics Programme.

Stories From An Island City By The Teng Ensemble

Ten Singaporean stories are beautifully told through music, film and dance in this special presentation directed by Singapore theatre icon Glen Goei. Familiar motifs from Singapore's heritage songs such as Chan Mali Chan, Di Tanjong Katong and Munnaeru Vaalibaa feature in The Teng Ensemble's original pieces, written by New York-based composer Chow Jun Yi in collaboration with Singapore music arranger Huang Peh Linde.

Message From A Medicine Man

Japanese sound designer, explorer and music director Yasuhiro Morinaga conjures up music, spoken word and mesmerising ambient lights, inspired by the traditional and contemporary music including the soundscape of Indonesia. Part of Pesta Raya - Malay Festival of Arts.

Interaction Series By Lakshmi Mohanbabu

The Singaporean artist's paintings come with 3D frames, which in themselves are unique art pieces. The series delves into the concept of the mandala, a spiritual symbol in Indian religions.

Wellspring Of Joy And Tranquillity - Modern Acrylic Works By Foo Hong Tatt

The Malaysian artist's paintings combine Eastern philosophy, as well as Oriental and Western aesthetics and techniques. Foo will give an art talk and demonstration of how he paints tomorrow, while guest speaker Professor Foo Keong Tatt, a urologist, will talk about the art of healing on Sunday.

Art And Alchemy: Chieu Shuey Fook

A second-generation artist and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts alumnus, Chieu was influenced by pioneer artist and teacher Cheong Soo Pieng. This exhibition showcases more than 60 works featuring a selection of Chieu's batik works, zinc etchings, metal reliefs as well as an original painted vintage car, a 1961 Morris Minor.

Wong Keen: The Orbits Of Colour

The exhibition features 20 recent artworks by US-trained artist Wong Keen. His latest series reflects his decades of immersion in colour field painting and innovative Chinese ink wash aesthetics. The largest painting on show spans 3m in length.

Amar Kanwar: The Sovereign Forest

This is the debut showing of The Sovereign Forest in South-east Asia by New Delhi- based artist and film-maker Amar Kanwar. The project explores the exhaustive struggles over the resource-rich land of Odisha in east India and the issue of its ownership.

Pusaka: Heritage And Culture Of The Javanese In Singapore

This exhibition highlights the significance of inheritance to the Javanese community in Singapore. It also focuses on the ways in which the community continues to uphold its traditions and culture and passes them down to the next generations.

50 Years Of National Day Parades Travelling Exhibition

This exhibition is curated by the National Heritage Board in conjunction with National Day Parade 2016. Featuring more than 100 images, it takes visitors on a journey from the first parade held in 1966 to commemorate Singapore's independence to the jubilee celebrations at the Padang last year.

In My Shoes

Held in conjunction with the Youth Month celebration organised by the National Youth Council, this interactive art exhibition showcases stories of youth who have experiences with mental health issues and how they have overcome the challenges. The Youth Of Shooting Home

This exhibition showcases the works of 10 former participants of The Shooting Home Youth Awards, a platform for students to develop their photographic skills and ambitions. Formerly known as Junior Shooting Home, the programme has been running since 2011. Themed around the idea of home, the programme encourages participants to draw inspiration from their surroundings and the issues most important to them. The photographs address a variety of subjects that are close to the young photographers' hearts, such as friendship and family.
