Listening To Taiwan - National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra

Artistic adviser Wen-Pin Chien directs the orchestra, which is making its debut here, in two programmes showcasing modern Taiwanese compositions alongside classical favourites. Veteran bamboo flautist Chung-Shen Chen premiered Ma Shui-Long's Concerto For Bamboo Flute in 1982 and will revisit the work with the National Taiwan Symphony Orchestra on April 2. Yu-Chien Tseng, the 2015 Tchaikovsky Violin Competition top prize winner, is the soloist for Tyzen Hsiao's Violin Concerto In D Major on April 3.

SSO Gala: Bizet's Carmen

This concert features mezzo-soprano Christine Rice in the title role of Carmen, tenor Andrea Care as Don Jose, bass- baritone Shen Yang as Escamillo and Li Jing Jing as Micaela. Carmen is French composer Georges Bizet's best-known work and one of the most performed operas in the world.

Exotic Sunlight: Paintings By Ong Kim Seng
