President's Young Performers Concert

The Singapore Symphony Orchestra calls for applications from young Singaporean musicians for next year's President's Young Performers Concert. Auditions will be held for shortlisted conductors and musicians performing on Western classical instruments such as strings, woodwind, brass and percussion. Successful candidates will perform as soloists in a concerto with the national orchestra in September. Applicants should be Singapore citizens. Instrumentalists should be no older than 25 and conductors no older than 35 as of July 1.

Elegant Music Society Of Shanghai Chinese Orchestra

VCH Chamber Series: Sax & Sextet

Master saxophonist Claude Delangle returns to take centrestage in Adolf Busch's Quintet for alto saxophone, two violins, viola and cello and the Hot Sonate by Erwin Schulhoff, which marries contemporary music with American jazz. Sensing States: Healing Spaces is a three-part exhibition experience that aims to contextualise nature in relation to Singapore's urban environment. In particular, a desire for an unspoilt environment is complemented by the notion of nature's healing properties. Ideas such as the therapeutic properties of being immersed in a forest and the medicinal applications of plants from traditional medicines to Western medicine are examined.
