Developing an orchestra is like training a football team, says the Singapore Symphony Orchestra's (SSO) new director of artistic planning.

"It's the same language, the same rules, whether in South America or Europe - that's why players can play in teams around the world and musicians can play in orchestras around the world," says Mr Hans Sorensen, whose appointment was announced in February.
