KREATIF CONNECTIONS: CELEBRATING 50 YEARS OF INDONESIA-SINGAPORE FRIENDSHIP
This cultural festival organised by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth features collaborations between artists and performers from Singapore and Indonesia. It takes place at the Empress Lawn and Asian Civilisations Museum from today to Sunday. Highlights include:
THE CURRENT/S WE CALL HOME | ARUS BERLABUH KITA
This new sound and visual installation at the Asian Civilisations Museum comes from Indonesian artist Budi Agung Kuswara (Kabul) and Singaporean artist Samantha Tio (Mintio). Sails feature photographs of children who live in both countries. The work is a salute to folk melody Dayung Sampan, which refers to a boat.

CUPU MANIK ASTAGINA: THE SACRED JEWEL BOX
This cross-cultural production is based on the Javanese version of the Ramayana and combines wayang kulit, contemporary dance and fusion gamelan music. Dancers from Indonesia's Pamenang Dance Community (above) and Singapore's Peneroka Daya Tari perform to music from the Angger Gamelan Ensemble of Indonesia and local troupe Gamelan Asmaradana.

2018 SCO COMMUNITY SERIES: ENCORE, SCO!
The Singapore Chinese Orchestra (SCO) heads to the heartland under the Singapore Press Holdings Gift of Music Series. This outdoor concert led by conductor Quek Ling Kiong (above) features Wang Li Ping's famous Dream Of Red Chamber Overture and local favourite A Journey Around Singapore, arranged by composer Eric Watson and performed with Yuhua Musical Ensemble of Singers.
