SINGAPORE – With a sobriquet like “the sport of kings”, it is little wonder that polo has not traditionally been viewed as the most welcoming sport. 

The Singapore Polo Club (SPC) lies tucked away in a leafy oasis off Thomson Road, at the mouth of the Mount Pleasant colonial estate. It counts among its guests literal royalty – not least Britain’s King Charles III, who visited in 1974 when he was still the Prince of Wales, and Prince Harry, who saddled up in 2017 and 2023.
