SINGAPORE – From June 24 to Sept 20, Disney Cruise Line (DCL) will take over parts of Sentosa in a three-month campaign called A Magical Island Adventure: Let’s Set Sail With Disney Cruise Line.

Parts of the island will be transformed into play zones and photo opportunities that mirror the seven themed zones on board the Disney Adventure cruise ship, which began sailing from Singapore on March 10. The seven themed zones on the ship are Marvel Landing, Town Square, Disney Imagination Garden, San Fransokyo Street, Toy Story Place, Disney Discovery Reef and Wayfinder Bay.

Sentosa tourist site The Palawan will have a themed area inspired by Marvel Landing with references to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including The Avengers series (2012 to 2019) and Guardians Of The Galaxy (2014). It will also feature neon-lit cocktail sculptures after dark, borrowing from the ship’s Infinity Bar.

The Palawan includes attractions such as floating aqua park HydroDash and go-kart arena HyperDrive.

At the immersive walkway Sensoryscape, attractions themed after the ship’s Town Square and Disney Imagination Garden areas will depict Disney princesses such as Ariel from The Little Mermaid (1989) and Belle from Beauty And The Beast (1991).

Within the same area, visitors will also find the Tactile Trellis – inspired by the ship’s Disney Imagination Garden – with a 5m-tall topiary installation modelled after the DCL logo, surrounded by greenery and floral displays.

San Fransokyo Street and Toy Story Place will take centre stage at Palawan Beach, with a 6m-tall inflatable figure of Baymax from Big Hero 6 (2014) and themed outdoor furniture like deck chairs and beach umbrellas.

The themed beachfront area will also feature a splash pad with a 3.9m-tall shower head surrounded by Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and Bullseye character installations from the Toy Story movies (1995 to 2026).

The last two of the ship’s seven themed areas are the Disney Discovery Reef and Wayfinder Bay, which reference films such as Finding Nemo (2003) and Moana (2016) in their designs.

Attractions inspired by these areas will be situated at the Southernmost Point of Continental Asia, an islet located off Palawan Beach that is accessible via a wooden suspension bridge.

From June 24, parts of Sentosa will have free attractions inspired by Disney, Marvel and Pixar films and characters as the island rolls out a three-month campaign with Disney Cruise Line.

For the first time, this area will remain open beyond its usual operating hours of 9am to 6.30pm, allowing visitors to experience it after dark until 10pm. There will be glowing manta ray installations, Moana-inspired starlit pathways and bioluminescent-style lighting to keep the shoreline aglow after dark.

This will be the only ticketed zone, with admission priced at $8 for children four to 12 years old and $10 for adults. Admission is free for children aged three and under. Tickets are required only for entry after 6.30pm.

One final zone will be at the Central Beach Bazaar, with a 3.5m-tall installation of a compass – a key icon of the Disney Adventure – serving as a photo-taking backdrop.
