BUSAN – I first encountered the concept of healing while watching South Korean variety shows, where countryside retreats or a night stroll along the Han River in Seoul were described as such. Yet, I soon learnt that healing in the South Korean context is less about the medical concept of physical recovery, and more about rejuvenation through mental relaxation and self-care.

Seoul, with its vibrant energy, is a popular destination in South Korea for Singaporean travellers, a bustling city that is easy to navigate, with myriad things to see and do. But to experience healing, I venture towards lesser-known regions of the country for some tranquillity.
