What is the difference between MagSafe and Qi wireless chargers?
The original Qi wireless charging standard came out in 2010, providing up to 15W charging. However, using the first iteration of wireless chargers could sometimes prove finicky.
These Qi wireless chargers required precise placement and a flat surface for optimal charging. But as the universal, open standard, they were compatible with various brands, including Android smartphones and devices like earbuds.

Eventually, the Qi2 standard was introduced. Like Apple’s MagSafe technology, the Qi2 charging standard had magnetic alignment.
Most standard Qi2 wireless chargers deliver 15W charging to both Android and Apple devices. But the current Qi 2.2 version supports up to 25W charging.
